What happened
On 1 July 2026, 3Commas ceased operating for EU and EEA users, citing the requirements of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). EU-based users lost access to their automation tools, active strategies, and account history.
Why MiCA matters
MiCA is the EU's comprehensive framework for crypto-asset service providers. It requires platforms offering certain crypto-related services to be licensed by an EU national competent authority. Platforms that are not licensed cannot legally operate for EU/EEA retail clients.
For traders who relied on 3Commas, the exit was sudden and left many strategies without execution.
The EU-native alternative
My Metric Trade is built in Estonia, regulated under Finantsinspektsioon, and pursuing MiFID II and MiCA CASP dual licensing. We are designed specifically for EU investors and will not face the same regulatory constraint.
We are currently in licensed development. The waitlist is open — EU investors who join now will be prioritised for early access.
