Advanced trading strategies: layering rules for better outcomes

How to build more sophisticated rule sets using condition stacking, multiple timeframes and dynamic sizing.

Stacking conditions

A single condition is easy to game. Two or three independent conditions that must all be true simultaneously produce far fewer false signals — and often better quality trades.

Multiple timeframes

Use a higher timeframe to define the regime (trend direction, volatility state) and a lower timeframe for entry precision. This keeps entries aligned with the larger context.

Dynamic sizing

Rather than fixed position sizes, tie size to conviction or volatility. Higher-confidence setups get slightly larger size; volatile regimes get smaller. The result is a more efficient use of risk budget.
