The key difference: EU compliance
3Commas.eu closed on July 1, 2026, following the end of MiCA's transitional period. It did not obtain a MiCA CASP licence and chose to exit the European Economic Area entirely rather than comply with EU regulation.
My Metric Trade is built in Estonia under EU law and is pursuing MiCA CASP licensing via Finantsinspektsioon. This is not a marketing point — it is a structural difference in how the two platforms relate to EU regulation and the protections that come with it.
Custody and fund safety
Both platforms connect to exchanges via API rather than holding funds directly. However, My Metric Trade is explicit about the permissions it requests: read access and trade-only execution. Withdrawal permissions are never requested or required.
My Metric Trade's non-custodial architecture is built into the platform design, not just a policy choice. Your funds remain at your broker or exchange at all times. If My Metric Trade goes offline, your positions are unaffected.
